Eden
Eden is located 25 miles north east of the B Bar Ranch Retreat. It is located at the intersection of US Hwy 87 & 83. Points of interest include the Concho Springs Golf Course, one of Texas' most well-maintained 9 hole golf courses; Don Freeman Memorial Museum, which highlights Eden's hometown heroes, including Don Freeman, General Ira Eaker, and many others; and Venison World plus several other unique shops. Eden supports 2 doctors, a hospital, a clinic, and excellent EMS personnel, a fire department and 7 churches. Eden is celebrating their 125th birthday in 2007. Their Fall Fest is held on the 4th Saturday in September with world-class bull riding. Additionally, Eden is 18.5 mile east of

Ft. McKavett
Ft. McKavett is 28 miles south east of the B Bar Ranch Retreat. It was established in 1852 and is a State Historic site. Ft. McKavitt also has a U.S. Post Office and a volunteer fire department. For more information, www.tpwd.state.tx.us.
Menard
Menard is 33 miles east of the B Bar Ranch Retreat. Located on the edge of Texas Hill Country, the characteristics of rolling hills and lush vegetation are everywhere and the San Saba River runs through the center of the county. Menard has a legacy of rich historic attractions. Presideo de San Saba was at one time the largest Spanish fort in Texas and built in 1757.
According to legend, Jim Bowie, a Texas hero who died in the Alamo in 1836, never revealed the location of his famous silver mine located in the Menard area. There is an annual Jim Bowie Days Celebration every September. For more information, www.menardchamberofcommerce.com.
San Angelo
San Angelo located 45 miles north east of the B Bar Ranch Retreat and has the area's nearest commercial airport. Ft. Concho is a well preserved fort and National Historic Landmark, established in 1867. It is located in the heart of San Angelo, near the historic downtown area which includes many shops and other areas of interest. Other attractions include the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, Lake Nasworthy, Twin Buttes Reservoir, Lake O.H. Ivey, Santa Fe Golf Course, Bentwood Country Club, Quicksand Golf Course, Sunset Mall, and many other shopping locations. The Anuual San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo is one of the biggest in the state, held every February. For more information, www.sanangelo.org.
